Shani Dev is often misunderstood
Shani Dev is often misunderstood. He leads you to see your own darkness, slows you down to acknowledge your karmic patterns, accelerating your spiritual growth. But the devotee of Kalabhairav will remain unaffected by Saturn, as he or she has already acknowledged their inner darkness.
The planet Saturn, is the DharmRaj (Governing Dharma). Shani Dev has been misunderstood by many of us. He is a divine force who can help us accelerate our spiritual growth. Shani Dev will lead you to face your inner shadows and accumulated karma, he will bring you into your own truth again and again, till you have understood it. He is often depicted as black, this symbolizes the unseen aspects of ourselves that are in darkness. We don’t see them until Shani Dev transits in our lives and he guides us to see and heal it. The Guru of Shani Dev is Kal Bhairav. It is said that if you are a devotee of Kal Bhairav, Shani Dev will not affect you. Why?
Because if one has been a true devotee of Kal Bhairav, they have already acknowledged all their darkness, their fears and their suppressed truths. Baba Bhairav is often depicted as a fierce divine form, but this doesn’t mean that he is angry or fierce in nature. By being so, he wants us to acknowledge our anger, fear and all such repressed emotions that we usually won’t show or display. Bhairav baba ji is openly showing those emotions, leading us to acknowledge them. As we acknowledge and bring them in light, we liberate ourselves from it. The sense of self dissolves. That’s why even with Saturn transit, one won’t see much change as they have already done the work, Saturn would have guided you with.
So what should you do today as today is a very powerful day energetically..
Practice for today: (Can be done every Saturday along with Today and Tomorrow)
Sit in meditation and pray to Kal Bhairav and Shani dev. You can do this by simply remembering their form in your mind’s eye.
Then, breathe in and out for 3-4 times. Relax yourself and ask Kal Bhairav to help you see your darkness.
After saying this, bring your awareness to your body and start scanning it from your mind’s eye, from head to toe. You’ll naturally feel that they are certain areas in your body that are illuminated and certain areas where there is darkness. After you identify the areas of darkness, go one step further and ask the emotions stored in this darkness. What is this darkness trying to convey? If it could speak, what will it say?
Then visualize placing a Diya in those areas. Bringing illumination in all. Repeat “In the truth and blessings of Kal Bhairav, all of me is in light of acceptance. I am free and enlightened in the grace of Baba Kal Bhairav.”
Then pay gratitude to both divine forms and end the practice by actually illuminating a Diya and keep it outside of your house or in your temple at home.
